but the desire of the righteous will be granted.
When the tempest passes, the wicked is no more,

  1. More people seem to be doing videos! I am going to have a list to watch later on :-) I have a YouTube channel, but haven't done any knitting videos yet...that is on my agenda though!

    1. You should bite the bullet and start! I was anxious about it at first but once you get into it, just roll with it. :)

  6. Amanda, I loved it, every single bit! I really did feel like I was sitting at the kitchen table just chatting away.

Now, about the cotton, apricot yarn...If you aren't digging the color why not dye it? I would.

On to wooly tattooing.....the first time I tried it I failed and gave up, but kept thinking about it. Second time was a charm.. Wool is stretchy so put your hand in the tube to get the area you need. Another tip, put your tattoo on the raised area of the stitch, not in between. Not sure how Dottie Angel does it, but that is what works for me. Need to talk more about it? Call me...843-846-8060
The Bean Tree? I haven't been able to finish it, kind of boring.
    Love pretty book marks too!

    1. Yay! I'm going to write down your phone number and you might regret ever giving it to me! Also - you need to cast all your cares aside and set out for a who-knows-how-long trip to this Yarn Barn. It is amazing. I'll meet you there with scones and we can frolick in the yarn-y goodness.

  8. You are a natural on camera! I tried doing a book review once on video - it wasn't pretty.
I'd say keep it up, it's fun to read people's blogs, but, just as interesting to see them and hear their voices too.

    1. I was a broadcast journalism major in college until Sept 11. Then I thought, "There's no way I could keep it together when the world is falling apart all around me." So I changed to PR. Still very helpful!

  10. And yes...like you, I am so thankful that I could sit in my home and share the love of knitting with others, even though so much pain is happening right now in the world. You are so right, the reality is not lost on me either! mari

  11. Your podcast is FABUOUS!!! You look great - I love the salon hair, but trust me - you're gorgeous, I'm sure you rock the bed hair look as well. Also - nothing wrong at all with your microphone - sounds clear to me. I feel the same way about my photos on my blog - but hey, I'm not a photographer. We work with what we have. You're totally charming and it is a great start to your podcasting future :-) Oh - and great knits too! We are lucky to have the fortune to be safe and warm and smart enough to understand and appreciate our good fortune.

  12. Loved it!! I'm so glad I had a chance to come by this afternoon and watch it! I was having my much-needed knitting break while my kids rested and "you" were the perfect accompaniment. Not only was it so cute, you are very eloquent and have a tremendous vocabulary so that increased the interest level even more. Really wish I could have you over for a cup of something hot and chat in real life but you're on the other side of the country...too bad! I hope your knitting class went well, I bet it was fabulous with such a dynamic and interesting instructor! :)

  13. you are adorable!!!

first off, the mike is fine, don't worry about it. I hope you fish up that dropped stitch with a crochet hook and carry on. Have you thought of a piece of cardboard in the mitt so you can tattoo only one side? As for the socks if the two skeins go together. make a pair of socks alternating every four rows between the colors. If you do a five inch cuff and body to heel then seven 1/2 inches from edge of turned heel to toe shaping you should have plenty of yarn for a pair of crew socks. Cast on 64 stitches size 2 needles ( follow a simple vanilla sock pattern if you can't find one I'll send you my personal one). Easy peasy.

Loved seeing you in person :)

  14. I couldn't get it to work either, but came back 'cause I knew you'd fix it. :) Like the other ladies, I have to say that you did a great job -- you're a natural! Picked up my needles and knit away while you chatted. :) I was going to suggest that you knit baby socks with the sock yarn, but you said you don't do socks. Karen's idea is a good one, but the again, you don't do socks Perhaps a pair of fingerless mitts using Karen's suggestion of alternating the yarn each row?

Since you asked, I'm knitting a Starshower cowl, a mobius cowl, a Citron, a Brennan cardi, and an alpaca cowl. Lots and lots of cowls. And all for Christmas. :)

    1. And I don't do babies either - but that's for another day! I might just have to keeping thinking on this. Maybe a stash swap?
