Julian and I were raised in the same hometown, Lexington, Virginia. We married in 2007, and lived in Blacksburg, Va for three years. We have just returned "home" to Farmville, Va. after five years at West Virginia University, where Julian earned his PhD.
This blog was started in 2010 to keep in touch with a special friend who passed away unexpectedly shortly thereafter. Since then, it has become a place for me to scrapbook our days, connect with friends, and work through my thoughts in words.
In our eight years together, Julian has taught me to enjoy the quiet and to have peace in solitude. He has proven to me that I have the power to stop doing something I do not want to be doing (reading the headlines, slogging through a boring book). He has taught me to be fearless in trying anything.
I have taught him when to use "that" and when to use "which," but that's about all.
I'm proud of you two, for what it's worth, and I'm blessed to call you friend.
